Tunisian activist YassinFathali sends a message to the world’s youth on the 75th anniversary of the United Nations Establishment

Tunisia, like the rest of the world, celebrates the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the United Nations. On this occasion, I wanted to pay tribute to the important and prominent role that this organization plays in the international arena, especially in political, diplomatic, environmental, human rights, humanitarian fields and other areas, especially in support of youth issues. This is what I sensed during my experience with the United Nations Population Fund, Tunis office and the regional office. Since youth, especially activists and volunteers, occupy an important position in the work of the United Nations through coaching, and briefing, supporting their presence in international conferences and forums, and giving them the opportunity to express their opinions, to talk with political actors and officials in a direct way, to represent their countries, and to talk about their field experiences in summits and others is crucial to UN work.
The organization has an important role, especially during this period of epidemic crisis when the United Nations with its agencies had a great importance in supporting countries and peoples, especially Tunisia.Its belief in us as Tunisian youth is inspirational for us to have a role in supporting our country in achieving the goals of sustainable development and the 2030 vision of the United Nations. it has become necessary for us to strive as youth to support this process, especially among us activists and volunteers around the world, to emphasize in various means and methods the effectiveness and experience that we gain. This what enables us to be world leaders, to contribute to the support of our homelands and our peoples, to defend our rights and the rights of future generations in various economic, social, and especially political fields, and to strive to gain an important place in national or international political positions. I want to emphasize the need for more support for women, highlighting their status and developing scientific research.Young people and students acquire skills and competencies necessary to work on and support positive change in a way that guarantees development in all areas and helps achieve goals The United Nations, especially the 2030 plan, support.the efforts of the United Nations agencies believe in women role and support their work based on establishing equality and eliminating gender discrimination, as well as eliminating all forms of racism and discrimination based on sex, race, color, or beliefs, and respect for human privacy in line with the universality of human rights and the principle of global citizenship
And at the end of this message, I want to extend my congratulations to all the staff of the United Nations organization and its volunteers, especially in the times of the Corona pandemic, headed by the Secretary-General of the General Assembly, Mr. Antonio Guterres, and I support the heads of state in the world to further support the youth, especially the activists and volunteers involved in the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals.long live humanity with a common value that unites us.
